Vice President's Welcome

Harry Le Grande photo You're now a part of our campus community, where you and your educational experience are valued. This experience includes rigorous academic programs and quality out-of-classroom experiences.

We have a strong network of dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to supporting you as you progress from your first year of college through graduation. You have done all the right things to get to this point: you've worked hard and made your education a priority. Now that you're here there are countless opportunities to make connections with others and develop your own sense of belonging.

As you begin your SSU journey, I ask you to keep in mind the expectations the University and I have of you as Sonoma State students. Every campus community member has a responsibility to maintain the high level of integrity, respect, and excellence that is characteristic of all who live, learn, and teach at this institution. The University expects you to represent the campus well in both your on and off campus activities.

All of us in Student Affairs want to make your experience a memorable one and hope that you take advantage of all that SSU has to offer. In Student Affairs our philosophy is "Students are not an interruption in our day but the reason why we are here."
